Last Bit Of Summer – On A Plate

Caprese Last Of SummerNow that the weather here is below 45 degrees every night, the basil has bid its farewell. Saying “good-bye” to us over brunch was this tiny bit of Basil that was so handily cut from the stem prior to said cold wave, stuck into a jar of water, and hoped to last just long enough to use up with the last bit of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes from the kitchen.

Ah….we’ll miss you, basil…’til next year. Ciao!

  1. That does look so good Karen. I’ve got 6 little pots of basil growing inside throughout the year. It doesn’t get as big & bushy as an outdoor plant but if keep starting new plants throughout the year to hopefully never be out. Just needs a little bit of sun & someone to remember to water them.
