Breakfast and My First “Tweet” From Abu Dhabi

B'fast at La BriocheWalked to La Brioche for breakfast this morning in Abu Dhabi. Had a tasty plate of scrambled eggs,  warm bread with butter, with freshly squeezed orange juice, and hot chocolate.

What can I say? It was all SO tempting I just couldn’t resist!

How yummy do these look?

Then, on the way back to the hotel, caught a glimpse of these little guys, enjoying fresh dates in the tree. So…..Here’s a “tweet” from Abu Dhabi:

And then he invited his friends over for brunch:

What kind of job do you have that you are traveling to Abu Dhabi? Can you come on October and meet me in Lucca?

  2. Pastries look awesome … now those would be hard to pass by! I never saw dates growing in a tree – how cool is that?!

    • It is interesting to see all of the cars stopped on the side of the (high speed!) interstate highway, and watch people having “picnics” under the trees – while eating dates right from the trees! It’s so funny to see!

I’m sure those cakes look better than they taste. The first bite into them is often (but not always) disappointing.

  4. Well yes, those do look very yummy so I guess you had no choice but to eat them. Those are great pictures w/the birds. I never pictured dates as looking like that though. Good ‘tweet’.

    • Believe it or not, I resisted! Ate breakfast and merely “ingested” the treats via camera lens…there are date palm trees all over Abu Dhabi, and the people (and birds!) are seen eating them right off the trees.
