On Saturday, March 9th, we attended the annual Arbor Day event with our friends, David and Rochelle. With perfect weather, it made for the ideal way to enjoy our morning outdoors.
After a big welcome by Deb Zemlock, the President of the Natural Resources Commission, the Mayor read the special proclamation – declaring it officially Arbor Day.
Then all of the attendees went about with tree plantings –
a geo hunt, and enjoying donuts provided by Sweet Apple Donuts. (All of the donuts were related to trees…how fun and creative was that?).
Prizes were awarded to those who answered tree questions correctly –
………..and volunteer groups were there to pitch in and help with the mulching.
Here’s the ISTA team, really digging in to show support.
After saying our “good byes!” we left to get ready for the next fun event – The Cheese Wheel Cracking at Whole Foods…more about that next time!
