Buonamico Winery – Part 2 – Lunch!

Last time we spoke, me, Hubby, and our friends had just finished touring and tasting the wines of Buonamino Winery.

It really takes focus, concentration, and laser sharp brain cells to properly taste wine, you know. With that said…..we were all ready for lunch. Our brain cells were very tired!

And what a lunch experience this was to be! Since the day was overcast and rainy, we chose to eat outside under the huge canvas cover and watch the approaching storm. Even on a day of rain, the view was outstanding. Looking over to the hills, the small town of Monte Carlo was directly in our view.

Really, you say, does it get any better than this? Well, YES IT DOES when the food arrives.

Set up buffet style, the feast included a farro and vegetable salad, bread with olive oil (from Buonamico, of course!), fresh mozzarella, assorted meats, a cheese platter with pecorino and parmesan, and if that’s not enough…..a glass of wine!

Happy and stuffed, it was time to buy our “souvenirs”. Remember: never overpack, since you will always find treasures like olive oil and wine to take back home…the memories made with our friends will last a lifetime! See those smiles? Yes, all is well.

wow! I wish I could be there with you!! Everything is my favorite especially farro salad and fresh mazzarella!!! A couple of days ago, I had tuna farro salad with some tomatoes, red onion, capers and so on… I love that firm texture when I chew farro…. Thank you for sharing your wonderful trip!

    • Thanks for reading all about it! The farro is grown in that region of Italy, and is so good and nutty flavored. We always bring several of the bags back with us to enjoy at home. Love the tuna idea! Will have to try that.
