WOW! What a surprise to find that our blog was nominated for the “Kreativ Blogger” Award by none other than…drum roll, please….Diane from Photographs and Recipes. It’s an honor to receive this nomination and I hope to live up to Diane’s accolades.
So, first the formality of the rules of the nomination:
-
First, thank the person who nominated you. Diane, my fellow blogger – Grazie to you! Your attitude and storytelling are always on point…especially the Tale of the Possum and Pancakes.
-
Next, list 7 things you out there in blogland don’t know about us.
-
Then, copy and paste the logo on your post (see bottom of page).
-
Finally, list 7 bloggers that you follow, and let them know you’ve nominated them for the award. They, in turn, will continue on with their nominations of others by following these rules.
Without further ado, let’s battle through those “7 Items of Wonderment”:
-
Hubby and I celebrate 25 years of marriage in June…did I mention that, yes, we did meet in a bar?…….he crashed a birthday party for a friend of mine.
-
I was quite the little athlete in High School – played basketball, ran track, jumped hurdles, and played on the tennis team.
-
Being ever so slightly competitive, I participated in the H.S. State Latin Tournament. Took 2 years of Latin in high school. It came in handy on our first trip to Italy, when I actually knew what “Gratis” meant as we entered a beautiful garden for “Free”.
-
Took classical piano lessons for 7 years and played in recitals….hated the recitals, even though I was (for a few minutes) the center of attention…
-
Cried my way through 2nd grade, since having my delicate little girlie hands SMACKED with a ruler by Sister Mary-I-Hate-Your-Guts was NOT my way of experiencing a delightful Catholic school education. “Graduated” to public school in the 4th grade.
-
We both strive to walk 10,000 steps a day, and I have never sent a text message in my life.
-
Volunteering at North Fulton Community Charities is something I do each week.
Enough of the stroll down memory lane, right?! Let’s get to the GOOD stuff!
Here are 7 blogger friends we regularly follow, and why:
-
Totally enjoy Laurie at Simply Scratch. The idea of cooking meals from scratch is foreign to so many people – she inspires me knowing there are others “out there” that actually prefer to cook at home.
-
Panini Girl, for allowing us to “meet” someone with the love of the area in and around Lucca, Italy. We get to live vicariously through Panini Girl’s adventures.
-
Julia Segura’s Blog offers up inspiration for continued learning about food photography as well as excellent tips and advise for us bloggers.
-
Cynthia, for her blog Cinzia Is Cynthia In Italian. Always fun to read about her food and her fun as she lives abroad. Have gained 5 pounds just looking at her food pictures!
-
Liuba, over at Unwind Cooking, where the same passion for enjoying a glass of wine with dinner is mutually shared.
-
As for that Italian In Training, what a fun adventure – she is married to the real deal, living in Italy – what a fantastic way to learn to cook all things Italian.
-
And last but in no way least – The Scrumptious Pumpkin . Thanks for all of the healthy ideas offered up for tasty foods that are not at all processed or wrapped in cellophane!
Too bad we can only list 7, as there are others we follow that are so much fun, offer interesting tips and stories, and always let me start my day with a smile!
So, back to Diane. The stories she can tell….drop by Photographs and Recipes to see for yourself what I mean…Hope you all have a great week. Happy May!
Congrats!! 🙂

Susan, you are much too kind but thank you & know that I do read & appreciate your blog. But, oh my… I’m just not going to get a thing done today because those are all wonderful blogs you’ve nominated & I’ll have to check each of them out in detail. See how I get distracted & why smoke alarms go off?

Hope you enjoy each and every one of them. Just take the batteries out of the smoke alarm so it doesn’t bother you…tee hee.

Congrats on your award! And thank you for the nomination. Love your ‘7 items of wonderment’ by the way. My father also attended Catholic school and I’ve heard many stories about that awful ruler 🙂

Thanks so much! Some of those nuns are vicious. After totally loving Mrs. Parrott, my 1st grade teacher, I was then subjected to Sister Mary-I-Hate-Your-Guts…it totally left a scar on me..Can you tell??!! 🙂
