We traveled to Asheville, NC area for an overnight get-away – stayed at the Grand Bohemian Hotel close to the Biltmore House. Great hotel, friendly staff and surprised to learn that they had an Artist Showing with wine tasting in the lobby area / gallery. As if that was not enough, we found a fun spot for breakfast that we totally enjoyed on Saturday morning called Early Girl Eatery.
Located in Downtown Asheville, Early Girl Eatery boasts A Farm-to-Table Southern Comfort Food experience and they did not disappoint. Hubby had Trout and Scrambled Eggs, with coarse ground grits and Sweet Tea (is there really any other kind of tea??!!) The yummy and pretty award winner of the morning was my breakfast – their take on Eggs Benedict – assembled to perfection with colors that were outstanding with a taste to match. It makes me hungry just posting this plate of deliciousness 🙂 Called Early Girl Benny, this creation consisted of grit cakes topped with tomato, spinach, poached eggs, tomato gravy and avocado, served with toast (I substituted the homemade biscuit…highly recommended!).
Perfect touch on the tables were the fresh-cut flowers…being the Photographer that he is, Hubby kept the photos coming of the simple yet gorgeous shots of the tablescapes.
If you visit the area, this is a “DON’T MISS’ breakfast spot, with more choices than should be legal for breakfast. We actually gawked at the homemade yogurt and granola, served with fresh fruit…so many breakfast foods….so little time….happy eating!
